Cd-rom emulator mac os x10/24/2022 ![]() ![]() So I suggest you get an external drive, then with a long enough USB or Firewire cable, you can move the drive away from you, put it on a shelf. But I assume this is like a game where they use the physical media as a form of identification/authentication or whatever. If this is to install, then it would only be a one time thing, so I'd argue that the noise is an acceptable cost. Having listening to a helicopter-like noise of spinning disc for couple of hours makes me wan't to kill someone with a blunt instrument. (This even assumes you can find some app that fully emulates a drive, which I haven't found yet, at least for Mac.) With enough money, you could even pay someone to make a custom app just for you.but you want cheap. So unless you can find a free one, burning to disk will be the cheapest. A blank CD or DVD is going to be cheaper than any paid app. So, is there any cheap.way in mac os to do this?. I've seen apps, usually for Windows, but all the one's I've tried still don't fully emulate a CD/DVD so won't pass copy protection or whatever. ![]() #CD ROM EMULATOR MAC OS X ISO#So, is there any cheap or even free app to mount iso image as a virtual cd/dvd or a way in mac os to do this? The app I'm using is aware it's not a real CD drive.Ĥ. Double clicking on image (and thus mounting it normally with Disk Utility) is not an option in this case too. I practically don't burn disc nowdays, and even if I do, the OS X available tool is fine for me.ģ. I know there's a Toast Titanium app out there with a virtual drive mount option, but buying this program for $99 just to mount a image is a little bit odd. ![]() I don't want it □ Having listening to a helicopter-like noise of spinning disc for couple of hours makes me wan't to kill someone with a blunt instrument.Ģ. Now here's what I know, and what I don't want to do □ :ġ. I need to mount a disk image (.iso) in the system so it is recognized as a CD/DVD drive.
